HHS Announces $750 million in Prevention Funds

The Department of Health and Human Services announces $750 million in funds from the Prevention and Public Health Fund created by the health reform law to “help prevent tobacco use, obesity, heart disease, stroke, and cancer; increase immunizations” and to create “tools and resources for local prevention and health initiatives.” In fiscal year 2010, $500 million of the Prevention Fund was allocated to states and communities for prevention efforts.
