This Week in Polling: A Glut of Polls on the Role of Health Care in the Upcoming Election

Gallup compares public support for five major pieces of legislation passed in the last two years, including the health reform bill, with a special focus on how views differ by party ID.

• The Pew Research/National Journal Congressional Connection poll assesses favorability on the health reform law as well as views on replacing Medicare with a voucher system for purchasing private insurance.

Gallup-Healthways’ Well-Being Index looks at fluctuations in government health insurance coverage since the beginning of the recession.

CBS News and the New York Times evaluate public approval of the health reform law, the likelihood of voting for a Congressional candidate who supported the bill, and whether Americans believe Republicans will attempt to repeal the law next year.

• The latest Associated Press –GfK Poll also does a full roundup: personal importance of health care; support for health reform; job approval for President Obama on health care; and which party is better suited to handle the issue.

• In the first poll released since announcing their new partnership, the Politico/GWU Battleground Poll asks Americans what issues Congress should be working on, with health care making the list.

• The 13th annual Health Confidence Survey from the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) examines whether confidence in the health care system has changed since the passage of health reform and asks Americans when they believe the law will be fully implemented.
