The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC), a new commission “tasked with reviewing state and federal Medicaid and CHIP access and payment policies and making recommendations to Congress, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the states on a wide range of issues affecting Medicaid and CHIP populations, including health care reform,” according to the website, holds its first public meeting this week. The Commission will review state and federal payment policies, highlight key priorities for the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid and inform the roles that states will play in health reform implementation.
