HHS and Treasury Proposed Rule on Exchange Eligibility and Employers Standards and the ACA

Proposed rule from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of the Treasury on “standards and systems for applying for and enrolling in qualified health plans and insurance affordability programs through the [Affordable Insurance] Exchange.” According to HHS, the new rule would make it faster and easier to determine eligibility, verify applicant information, coordinate with Medicaid and CHIP and “provide a new way for employers to offer their employees choices among qualified health plans” through the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP).
