Notice from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding the fee ($505) that new providers enrolling in the Medicare program, revalidating their Medicare enrollment, or adding a new Medicare practice location must pay. The fee is part of a final rule published on February 2, 2011 that "finalized, among other things, provisions related to the submission of application fees as part of the Medicare, Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provider enrollment processes" in an effort to reduce fraud.
